FAQ

Common questions.

Timelines, contracts, what the Quote Engine actually is, who this is for, and how onboarding works. If your question isn't here, email luis@shopgrade.co.

How fast can you get the Quote Engine live?

Convert tier launches within 7 days. Accelerate (with Quote Engine) takes 10–14 days because we're configuring response logic for your specific shop, materials, and lead times. Scale takes the full 14 days because we're also setting up outbound, CRM, and prospecting in parallel.

Am I locked into a long contract?

No. Everything is month-to-month, cancel anytime. We earn your business every month. If we're not delivering measurable results, you walk. There's no contract trapping you.

Can I just buy the website without the monthly?

No. Websites without ongoing maintenance go stale within months and stop converting. If you want one-off website work, hire a freelancer — we're not the right fit. We build sales infrastructure, and that requires us being in your business every month.

What if it doesn't work?

We track every metric — response time, RFQs received, close rate, pipeline volume, closed revenue. You see it monthly. If we're not driving measurable results in 90 days, cancel. No contract, no penalty.

Is the Quote Engine actually a bot, or does someone respond?

It's a purpose-built product that responds automatically. Initial response within 5 minutes uses your shop's branded templates, your capabilities, your standard lead times — pulled from how we configured it during onboarding. The detailed quote follows within 24 hours, prepared by you or your team with full RFQ context handed off cleanly.

My nephew can build me a website for free.

Then he should. We're not a website agency — we're sales infrastructure. The website is the foundation, but it's not the product. The Quote Engine is. If you just need a brochure site, your nephew is the right call.

What does your shop need to look like to get results?

CNC machine shop, precision shop, fab house, or engineering services firm. $1M–$25M revenue. You came from production, not pipeline — and you'd rather stay there. You're losing inbound RFQs to faster competitors, you don't have a dedicated salesperson and don't want to manage one, and you're ready to invest in infrastructure, not a $500 nephew-website. If that's not you, we're probably not your match — and we'll tell you that upfront.

What does onboarding actually look like?

30-minute discovery call — we learn your shop, your customers, what's breaking. No pitch deck. Within 7–14 days your site is live and the Quote Engine is configured for your materials, lead times, and capabilities. You stay in production the whole time. Every month after that we measure response time, RFQs received, and close rate. You see the numbers. We adjust what's working, cut what isn't.

Where do you work geographically?

We work with CNC machine shops anywhere in the US. We're not restricted by region — RFQs come in by email, the Quote Engine doesn't care about your zip code. Local SEO and Google Business Profile work in Scale tier are configured for whichever market you serve.
